A new piece of research claims that women treated well by their fathers in childhood go on to find similar-looking men attractive in their adult years. Dr Lynda Boothroyd from Durham University said the findings added to our understanding of how we become attracted to certain types of people – a decision that informs the wellbeing of ourselves and our offspring. The study, to be published in the Journal Of Evolution And Human Behaviour, used facial measurements to assess the similarity of the faces; it also suggested that Nigella Lawson’s husband Charles Saatchi was a dead-ringer for her father, former Chancellor Nigel, and that Fat Boy Slim looked very much like his wife Zoe Ball’s dad, kids’ TV presenter Johnny.
